Mount Aragats- Western Peak (4080m)

Mount Aragats- Western Peak (4080m)

Level of difficulty- Challenging

Mount Aragats (4095 m) is the highest peak of the Republic of Armenia . This four-peaked giant is one the most favourite mountains for climbers. We start at 08:00 am from Yerevan. On the way we stop at the Park of Armenian Alphabet and continue driving till beautiful mountain Lake Kari (Stone Lake) which is at the height of 3250m . Here the road ends and we start our hiking. Uphill the route is rocky and strewn with debris. There’s no path, but the peaks are visible so you basically slog it uphill. Western summit is a little more difficult to reach than the southern. Be prepared! On the top opens the most attractive scene: the silhouette of green valleys from one side, the eternal snow and silver lakes from other sides and Biblical Mount Ararat far in the fog of Ararat Valley. After a little break we start descending. Near Lake Kari there is a restaurant- here we have a good dinner ( You will taste Armenian national dish Khash, known as one of the most nutritious and delicious) and return to Yerevan filled with positive feelings and unforgettable memories.

Attention- We can also combine the tours to the southern and western summits in one.
